Why should I track order profit in real-time?

By tracking order profit real-time you will be able to send this value to Google ads or Paid Social ad accounts and optimise your campaigns based on profit, instead of revenue. Profit-bidding not only makes your ad campaigns more profitable, but also allows you to spot campaigns with “good” ROAS but are actually unprofitable. The additional, massive benefit is that we can store this value in our GA4 account, which enables us for advanced profit-based reports.

This is an example of why bidding on profit (POAS) is superior to bidding on revenue (ROAS). ROAS-bidding may optimise for orders that generate much higher revenue but less profit. What if we could always optimise for the highest profit orders?

What about 3rd party profit-tracking tools?

These tools have been extremely positive for the industry, both for promoting a “profit-mindset” and for actually developing tech that would make this possible. However with the introduction of server-side tracking, any business can replicate what these tools do, for free. These tools charge $4-9k/year, which after completing this course not you nor your clients will have to pay anymore.

Module 1. Concept.

In this first module we will do an overview of this profit-tracking system. Where is the data coming from, which tools we will be using and more.

In this module, first we will implement order-profit tracking in real time and then we will send this value to our analytics and ad accounts for enabling profit-bidding.
